Anime Toon ((LINK))

Anime Toon Shading is a post-process independent approach to cartoon style effect, which means it uses a geometry-based shading model that allows customizing every character on the scene to specific lighting conditions and works perfectly in the forward rendering mode.

Anime theme songs are not like cartoon theme songs in the West. Western cartoon theme songs are often silly, poorly written and forgettable. Anime themes run from excellent to terrible, but they tend to be much more highly regarded. This is because, in Japan, traditions regarding music contracts mean that singers and bands frequently make a much higher percentage off the songs they write for anime than they do for their albums and singles. Many of them reserve their best work for anime songs.

I think there is a lack of such figures; except few stylized characters; especially if you are looking for something that fall in the anime style (like MMD figures to give an idea), or in the stylized cartoon/toon area (for example like the Disney animated characters).

I had to hunt down fundamentally figures outside DAZ to get good rigged meshes; although I would rather have a DAZ product that I can integrate in the Genesis ecosystem; so I don't have to buy every time the same items for different figures, and end up with 10 different sets of anime clothing, that fit only on the respective figure. I would rather buy one or 2 figures (one anime, one toon), and then get 10 sets of clothes for that figure :)

For the true anime look that you're talking about (re:MMD) with Genesis there is reallyonly Kururu for G3. There's also Haru by Chocolate007 but the model is very erotic and very clearly created for a very specific type of content which put me off of it. Everything else is a strange pseudo-anime bastardization. There's plenty of toon stuff, but nothing like disney as far as I can tell.

I've been using Genesis 8 and Cartoonized, but it doesn't offer a lot in terms of eye customization. Sakura 8 comes with custom cartoony eyes, but unfortunately there isn't a good male counterpart to go with.

Was tempted to pick up Paige and Pace during a recent sale, but they're a bit too specifically designed - i.e. I can't imagine making them look like older characters, or them fitting well with hair and clothing that wasn't created with that style in mind. But then apart from Cartoonized for G8M and G8F, there aren't really any toon characters this generation that have both male and female versions.

I'm starting to think I should've hedged my bets (impulse purchases) on Genesis 3 and earlier. A lot of Genesis 2 outfits I've seen even tend to look geared more toward a cartoony style, while my G8 outfits veer more toward high detail.

"Art in the 'Toon Age makes you realize what an impressioncartoons have made on our collective eye," said Dr. Mary F. Holahan,Curator of Collections and Exhibitions at the Delaware Art Museum. "Youwould never mistake these works for cartoons, but their lively design-andoften subversive commentary-definitely come from that visual vocabulary."

The styles and subjects of Art in the 'Toon Age are individualreactions to a visual culture that has embraced comic strips, cartoons, animation, and commercial art. Commonplace imagery and standardized designhave characterized these popular forms of entertainment and commerce sincethe early 20th century. In the 1960s, Pop art adopted many of the strategiesand images of mass-produced images and transformed pop culture into highart.

Artists such as Red Grooms, Ida Applebroog, and John ClemClarke often implied stories in their comic narratives and paralleled Popart's use of commercial culture in the 1960s and '70s. The 1980s generation, including Luis Cruz Azaceta and Sue Williams, introduced complex themes, including political and personal ones, into their graphic style. The 1990sgeneration of Laylah Ali, Steve DeFrank, and others is part of a world-wideattraction to a multiplicity of cartoon styles, from Disney to anime.

Warner Brothers' Looney Tunes was inspired by DisneyStudios' Silly Symphonies, cartoons in which the action was builtaround a musical score. Looney Tunes began its run in movie theatresin 1930, introducing color in 1943. Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, andElmer Fudd were among the primary stars, each with his own signature styleof slapstick action. Subtle changes in the animation drawings createdexaggerated but convincing facial expressions and impossible physical contortions.
